Garden step with decked area (Empshott)
Patio with well
In this project, we were required to install a conservatory base, including the footings, brickwork, hard core, and a reinforced suspended concrete floot slab. This was suspended on the inner blockwork to retain structure should the clay underneath shrink or move. The conservatory was installed by a third-party company.
We also installed an ornamental fish pond with steps leading up to it, a raised patio area behind a retaining wall, with an integral well linked into an original 20 foot deep well. The patio was laid using 120 sq m of Indian sandstone paving. We also removed an existing uneven concrete slab in front of garage and installed concrete base for paving.

Brick & Stone Wall
In this project, we were required to build a brick and stone wall on the boundary line of a property to be a plain brick wall facing the adjacent property and to include a stone design facing the owners property. The line of the wall exactly follows the boundary line, which can be seen to turn slightly left behind the property. The design of the wall matches the adjacent outbuildings, including the cycle store built by us (visible by clicking here)

Dry Stone Wall and crazy paving
In this project, we were required to rebuild a dry stone wall in the garden of a listed cottage. The wall had, over time, started to collapse.
We did this by removing the stone wall, brick by brick, before building a retaining wall and then reinstalling the dry stone wall. To finish off the work, the customer requested a crazy paving path to be built around the base of the wall. |
Formal Patio
In this example we were commissioned to build a formal patio area, with raised areas and formal gardens.

Cupressus Leylandii Hedge
In this project where we were commissioned to install a complete and partially-mature hedge into a formal garden setting. These were 1.5m trees planted at 800mm apart in well prepared trench with general fertiliser and good quality compost. With regular watering throughout the growing season, they achieved 22" (55cm) growth in just 12 months.

Artificial Lake
In this project we were commissioned to build an artificial lake adjacent to an established children's playhouse. The lake is about 8m wide and about 1.2m deep.
The end-to-end installation time for this project was just 3½ days. As a rough guide, this project cost approximately £3,500 including all labour and materials.

Terraced Patio
This garden was on the side of a hill that sloped away from the house. The customer wanted to make use of the garden for dining out, so we designed and installed a multi-tier terraced patio area for the customer. Drainage was a key consideration, but as you can see from the photos below, this was not ignored.
